Retailers often forget about their in-store technology until something goes wrong. By which time, getting it fixed is a serious concern.  Here are a few tips to ensure your IT equipment is as free from risks as possible.

UK Retailers get biggest post-Christmas sales rush ever

British shoppers splashed out £1.8 billion on the high streets this Boxing Day.

On December 26, 2011, eleven million Brits hit the shops spending an average of £163 each.  Some shoppers began queuing at 10.30pm on the evening of Christmas Day.

A record 2,000 people were already clamouring outside the Selfridges store in Oxford Street, London, by 9am where more than 250 security guards and police were called in to manage the queues.  The store took a record-breaking £1.3million in the first hour.

Takings at North London's Brent Cross were £1,000 a second as 80,000 shoppers stormed the stores.

Retailers at Meadowhall shopping centre in Sheffield reported 150,000 shoppers in the giant centre, which was up from 90,000 last Boxing Day.

Yesterday, a massive 12 million shoppers were expected to flood stores, spending around £2.4billion. This equals £4.6million a minute or £77,000 a second over the nine trading hours.

Overall, shoppers are expected to blow £22.84billion in the post-Christmas sales, up £338million (1.5%) from last year, marking the biggest sales rush ever.
